Hanbury is designed in Worcestershire in the heart of the UK, the name pays homage to our local forest, where this brand is rooted and where we fell in love with the great outdoors.
Our watches are hand-crafted from responsibly sourced maple wood and 316L stainless steel, each watch is naturally different and completely unique. The Hanbury watch is the perfect combination of our environment and watchmaking, without compromising on style.
Please choose how many watches you’d like to reserve, by backing at 1, 2, 3, or 4 watch pledge levels.
You’ll receive a survey by email to specify your choices later.
For the past year we’ve been working together with experts in the watch making industry developing multiple prototypes and perfecting our designs.
To ensure a high quality standard timepiece, we have partnered with professional manufacturers that have decades of experience in producing watches for high-end premium brands.
In fact we are so confident in the quality and durability of our watches that each timepiece will be backed by a 2 year warranty.
Our dials are crafted from all-natural maple wood, our wood is responsibly sourced and replenished. Each timepiece is naturally different and completely unique. We love individuality.
Each dial is treated with a specially selected blend of organic oils and waxes to enhance the unique individual grain and at the same time permanently seal and preserve the natural beauty of the dial.
Our leather has a natural and organic look, whilst offering durability and strength.
We have used top-grain Italian leather which will over time build character and develop a beautiful patina.
For the movement, the heart of the watch, we partnered with a Swiss company called Ronda.
Well known in the industry for precise and reliable movements, Ronda produces watch movements of outstanding quality and innovative design.
As a family-owned company that is now in second-generation hands, Ronda attaches great value to maintaining its full independence.
Their movements are debatably the most accurate in the world and built to last for many years.
To complete and protect all Hanbury watches, we have used scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, It’s the second hardest material next to diamond.
Our sapphire crystal is coated with an anti-reflective material to achieve a crystal-clear view and to showcase the true beauty of the real wood dial.
We believe that reliability comes from a functional foundation and solid construction. That’s why all Hanbury watches are made from 316L stainless steel, offering high strength, durability and a long-lasting visual appearance.
This grade of stainless steel is used in jet engines and military tanks.
Each leather strap features a high quality butterfly clasp. This is considered more secure than a regular ardillon buckle.
The butterfly clasp design helps reduce the wear to the leather strap and provides an enhanced look and feel on the wrist.
Our first 250 pieces of the Hanbury watch produced will be individually numbered and engraved on the watch back.
By using a disruptive, direct to end user business model we cut out all the middle men. This has enabled us to offer you a high specification stylish watch for less than £100.
On the back of your watch you will find a unique artwork that encapsulates the inspirational design.

Hello! I’m Paul Masters, the creator behind Hanbury. The story starts in the heart of Worcestershire in the UK, at my local forest where I grew up. It was there that I developed a love for the great outdoors and became inspired to create Hanbury.
My passion for design, and inner entrepreneurship took me to the next step and for the last 2 years I’ve been developing a new generation of luxury watches that are a fusion of wood & steel.
This is just the start for Hanbury and it’s already been an amazing experience. Backing my campaign will give me the opportunity to continue telling the story and launch this innovative and unique brand.

Risks and challenges
We have been working very closely with our manufacturing partners for this past year, designing and developing prototypes, during this process we have built up strong working relationships and an understanding of what we set out to achieve.
Taking Hanbury from prototypes to finished production models will almost certainly have unforeseen issues, but we’re very confident we have structured a solid production plan and have done our very best to forecast demand. In the unlikely event of anything unexpected happening, rest assured we will keep you well informed until you receive your timepiece.
